Edu's transfer strategy hints Arsenal could complete world-class signings next year

Arsenal have completed plenty of youth signings through this summer transfer window. Mikel Arteta's side have signed 6 players who are all under the age of 24. In an interview, The Athletic journalist David Ornstein has detailed Edu's transfer strategy, which hints 'world-class' signings for next summer.
“It was the idea of Edu to build a young squad of this age profile. To blend them with world-class experienced players to bring Arsenal, in his mind, back to the top of competition, domestic and European, in a number of years," said Ornstein.
Ornstein continues by explaining that Mikel Arteta was surprised by this.
“I know that was something that when explained to Mikel Arteta was completely understandably a bit of a shock. Maybe shocked is the wrong word.   But anyone in his position, when he became Arsenal head coach and then manager, understands that you can't wait for tomorrow, and as noble as it is to plan for the future you also need to get results now,"  he said.
Since Arsenal have brought in six young players this summer, it points that the previously mentioned ‘world-class’ players are in the following summer's plans. Alexandre Lacazette, Eddie Nketiah, Mohamed Elneny, and Bernd Leno's deals will be expired next summer.   Source - football.london Join us on Telegram!/ Follow us on Twitter!
