Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn thinks Andy Ruiz Jr is making a big mistake by losing so much weight ahead of his rematch with Anthony Joshua next month. The Mexican has been trying to cut some weight from his 19st 11b frame as he faces Joshua in Saudi Arabia on December 7. Ruiz Jr has made with his weight loss programme as he looks to defend the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO belts. Eddie Hearn told talkSPORT: “It’s a dangerous move to start taking weight off, in my opinion. I love it. I hope he loses another two stone. Joshua is very focused. It all comes down to the night. This time Anthony will be 100 per cent ready for Andy Ruiz. We still have to execute the game plan and win the fight. It’s one month today and it’s the biggest fight of the year. “It’s one of the biggest fights of our generation in terms of heavyweight fights and heavyweight rematches. We are so desperate to see Anthony become a two-time heavyweight world champion. “Andy Ruiz looks good and he is going to be confident. Like I said, AJ has been preparing so hard. He wants to win so badly and everyone will be watching. It’s a real 50/50 fight. Two great fighters and anything can happen. That’s what we love about the sport.”
