"Doesn't deserve it": Kyle Walker defends Tottenham summer signing

Kyle Walker has opened up on Gareth Bale's return to Tottenham and has stated that he "doesn't deserve" the manner in which he was treated at Real Madrid. Walker is now on international duty with England where he will face Wales national team on Thursday evening, while Bale will miss the the friendly. Ahead of the clash Walker was asked to share his thoughts on his former teammate's return to North London club. “I think he has got criticism when he probably doesn’t deserve it,” Walker told the ITV Football Podcast. “What he has gone on to achieve at Real Madrid speaks volumes as him as a person and as a player. “The couple of seasons I got to have with him at Tottenham, it was just a purple patch. I have never seen anything like it. He hit the ball from anywhere and it was in the back of the net. The game-winners that he scored. “For Wales [against England tomorrow] he’s a big miss, of course. But it’s something that we need to capitalise on.”
