Diogo Jota is confident Liverpool can qualify for the Champions League this season after they picked up a victory at Wolves on Monday.
However, head coach Jurgen Klopp feels it's a quite impossible task to finish in the top four.
Speaking to
Liverpoolfc.com, Jota, who scored the only goal at Molineux and handed Reds a desirable win, said:
“I think [the break] is good and it’s not because we’ve had two wins and two clean sheets, it could have meant we had a good run of form now.
“We’ll never know, but we have a break, so it is what it is and we need to come back as we left it here.
“We must stick [to] thinking about us. There are a lot of games still to play, I think nine, so if we win all those games I’m pretty sure we can at least gain a spot in the Champions League, so let’s keep doing our job.”
While his boss previously admitted:
"I like to be an optimist, but in the league it is almost impossible to qualify in the competition for the Champions League places that we have."
Liverpool are currently 6th in the Premier League standings with 46 points overall.
