Diego Simeone finally breaks silence on Chelsea's Jan Oblak interest

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has opened up about Chelsea's interest in Jan Oblak. Frank Lampard has eyed five new signings in a bid to kickstart his revolution. The Blues have already made two signings- Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner. Chelsea boss lost faith in current stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has failed to impress throughout the season. Despite being signed for a world-record sum of £72m only two years ago, the Blues are making moves to replace him and Jan Oblak is reportedly on their radar. However, Simeone cannot forsee a way his club will let the Slovakia international go. "I am not surprised that Chelsea admire Jan Oblak, he is a decisive player for us," said Atletico boss. "But he is the captain and our participation every year in the Champions League helps us keep our best players so I hope he will continue with us." The 27-year-old is contracted to La Liga side until 2023 so Atletico are under no pressure to sell. And if Chelsea want to trigger his release clause it would set them back a staggering £103m.
