Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk has opened up on the Premier League match against Aston Villa, claiming they should have played better after going 1-0 up.
The Reds celebrated a 1 - 0 win over the rivals, with Mohamed Salah scoring the only goal from the penalty spot.
The Egypt international's net secured three points for Jurgen Klopp's side, however, Van Dijk was not impressed with his team's display.
“It’s always a good feeling when it hits the back of the net. I think we should have done better even after getting the goal to keep the ball and play through them," the defender told
BBC Sport.
"We didn’t do it too well. But it’s 1-0 and a clean sheet so we can’t be too hard on ourselves.”
