Depay responds to Tottenham transfer links amid reports of £50m bid

Tottenham have reportedly sent scouts to watch Memphis Depay in recent Champions League games between Lyon and Benfica and are keen on a £50million. Depay has revived his career at Ligue 1 after he left Manchester United in January 2017, scoring 50 goals in 130 appearances. Ahead of the Netherland’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Northern Ireland on Saturday, Depay was asked about the Premier League and the links to Tottenham. Speaking to Dutch outlet Voetbal Primeur , he said: “I don’t want to talk about that. I don’t want to talk about rumours that I know nothing about. We leave it in the corridors. I am focused on a strong season so far.” On playing in the Premier League, he added: “It’s a very nice competition. It’s up to the club that is interested. I belong in a team that plays good football and can play around me so that I can do my thing. I never rule it out.”
