IBF heavyweight champion Charles Martin could be the next opponent of Deontay Wilder. The "Bronze Bomber" has not fought since February last year. He was beaten by Tyson Fury in Las Vegas and lost his WBC title. The 34-year-old has made a string of excuses for the defeat such as his heavy costume, tainted water, loaded gloves and disloyal trainers. However, he could finally be set to return. According to Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix, Wilder’s representatives have reached out to Martin’s camp over a potential bout in the first quarter of 2021. This is due to ‘rapidly fading hopes’ of a trilogy with Fury.
