Demba Ba recalling Steven Gerrard’s vital slip against Chelsea: It must be difficult to live with it

Former Chelsea forward Demba Ba thinks it is difficult for Steven Gerrard to live with the mistake he made against the Blues in 2014.  Liverpool were leading in the title race against Manchester City and were close to their first Premier League title.  Reds faced Chelsea at Anfield and that match turned into a nightmare for the fans. Gerrard, the captain of that team, lost his footing in the dying seconds of the first half and let Demba Ba go one on one against the goalkeeper.  Chelsea took the lead and then scored second, which upset Liverpool. Merseyside club then failed to beat Crystal Palace and finished second that season.  Ba, who scored the first goal, believes it is hard for Gerrard to live with the memories of that day.  “You know, if I put myself in his shoes, which I didn't do up to now, it must be terrible for a player that has played so long for one team and has been great for that team. Basically, losing a title on the mistake he has done, I think it must be difficult to live with it.” Ba told Sky Sports “He (Gerrard) also said that it is difficult to live with it. I have also Martin Skrtel (former Liverpool defender) in my team now and I think he still has something against me, in training he doesn’t leave me alone.”
