Dean Smith provides POSITIVE fitness UPDATE on John McGinn

Aston Villa star John McGinn has trained on grass for the first time since suffering a fractured ankle during the PL match against Southampton back in December.  Villa manager Dean Smith has given a positive fitness update on the Scotland international ahead of the upcoming match against the Saints on Saturday. McGinn’s rehabilitation is going faster than expected and he’s been able to train on the pitch for the first time.   “John McGinn has been running on the AlterG (zero-gravity treadmill) at 85 percent body weight,” Smith said (via Daily Mail) “He's looking to be running on the grass come the weekend. His return will be looked at day-by-day to see how he continues his rehabilitation.” the coach added.  Smith has also provided a fitness update on Tyrone Mings. The England national team center-back, who missed the last home match against Tottenham, will be ready for Southampton.
