Danny Murphy has been discussing Luis Diaz and his potential role in Liverpool’s front three.

Diaz has become a key player in Jurgen Klopp’s squad since making a move to Anfield back in the January transfer window.

As now Sadio Mane is set to leave the club this summer, the former Reds’ player believes the winter signing is good enough to replace the Senegal international at the team.

“Luis Diaz is tenacious, he’s a goal-scorer, he plays with the same energy, the tenacity, all those things that Sadio Mane gives, Diaz is very similar with his traits,” he told talkSPORT, via Anfield Watch.

“When you think of the way Luis Diaz has come in, playing off that left-hand side generally – because Mane has been through the middle a lot, especially towards the end of the season.

“So he looks like a replacement, if you like, for Mane.”
