Daniel James will miss Manchester United’s Europa League opener against Astana because of injury.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed winger James had a “knock” in Manchester United against Leicester City match and will be left out from Thursday’s squad.
He joins Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw, as they got injuries as well. But the good news is Jesse Lingard and Diogo Dalot have recovered from illness and ready to come back.
Speaking of Daniel James, the Red Devils coach said, “Delighted with Dan, that we signed him, that we managed to get him to Manchester is fantastic. He’s proven with his X-factor already that he will give this squad a lot.”
David de Gea, who signed a new four-year deal, will be rested, and Sergio Romero will replace him in goal.
Axel Tuanzebe, Mason Greenwood and Fred are also expected to be given chances from the outset.
Manchester United against Astana match will be on Thursday, at Old Trafford stadium.
