Daniel Arzani made his Celtic debut on Wednesday night in the 5-0 hammering of Dundee but he lasted just 22 minutes being stretchered off with a knee injury.
Brendan Rodgers played down the scare and said: “Arzani is a great boy and it’s unfortunate he picked up the injury with a run in the game. I think his knee just sort of gave way and he felt it a bit unstable. He was taking the applause on the way out, so I’m not sure how sore it was. I don’t think it was killing him!”
However, reports in Australia later claimed the on-loan Manchester City player could be out for nine months with a torn ACL.
Arzani’s injury riddle has taken another twist after the Aussie star posted worrying pictures.
Posting a picture on Instagram of him wearing a knee brace, the 19-year-old captioned it, "Will I make it?" along with a "yes/no option".
He also posted a message to the fans: "I’m sorry I can’t get around to replying to everyone. Thank you all for the good wishes. Will keep you posted."
