Dani Alves reveals Liverpool inspiration ahead of Manchester United clash

PSG travel to Manchester United in the Champions League first knockout round this evening. PSG defender Dani Alves says their experiences in the Champions League against Liverpool this season could benefit them in their clash with Manchester United. “I think we have to learn from the mistakes made during the competition and not reproduce the same mistakes,” the Brazilian said ahead of tonight’s clash. “There are few games in the Champions League, so there is little room for error. We have to capitalise on what we do well because we have great ambitions in this competition. “We need to raise our level of performance, concentration, raise our level in duels, but I know we can do it, and we will do it. It will not be easy, of course, they will not give us presents. We will have to race each other to clinch the qualification.” Alves added: “We started with a rather negative result at Anfield, and then we raised our level in the competition when we had to show everyone our ability and strength. “In the second leg against Liverpool , we responded. When we had to win, we went to get the result. We got the qualification and the first place of the group. “It’s certainly an advantage (playing at home second), but first and foremost you have to focus on the first leg.”
