Damir Skomina appointed for Champions League final: Liverpool should be worried because of statistics

UEFA have officially appointed Slovenian referee Damir Skomina for the final match of Champions League between Liverpool and Tottenham at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium. We have earlier reported the names of officials that will assist him. Referee : Damir Skomina (Slovenia) Assistant Referees : Jure Praprotnik, Robert Vukan (both from Slovenia) Fourth official : Antonio Mateu Lahoz (Spain) Video Assistant Referee : Danny Makkelie (Netherlands) VAR Assistants : Pol van Boekel (Netherlands), Felix Zwayer (Germany) Offside VAR : Mark Borsch (Germany) Skomina has refereed two Tottenham matches so far. It was back in 2009/10 season, group stage, the dramatic game between Inter Milan and Spurs at San Siro Stadium (4-3 win for Inter). Also, in the last 16 of UEL 2014, Tottenham drew the match against Benfica, 2-2. It was the match when Gareth Bale first shocked Europe with his amazing hat-trick. Liverpool, meanwhile, should be worried for the appointment of this referee. Merseyside club has won only once in all matches where Skomina worked.
