Virgil van Dijk jokes on Cristiano Ronaldo during Ballon d’Or 2019
Virgil van Dijk joked on Cristiano Ronaldo when asked if Portuguese was an opponent for him for Ballon d’Or 2019.
Lionel Messi won the award, while Van Dijk got less votes and finished second in the final rankings.
When asked on how it feels not having one of his rivals at the ceremony, Van Dijk responded: “Was he a rival then?”
It has been earlier reported that Juventus star didn’t attend Ballon d’Or and instead went to the annual Italian football awards in Milan.
