Cristiano Ronaldo’s perfect volley past David De Gea gave his side the lead and for a moment it seemed that the Portuguese star was going to beome the hero against his former club Manchester United.
But then it all went wrong.
In the final four minutes of the game Jose Mourinho’s men scored two goals and won the match.
Ronaldo didn’t like to be defeated by United and after the match he criticized Mourinho’s side for little effort by saying: "I was happy with the goal but we are disappointed because we should win the game easily, by three or four goals.
"Manchester didn't do much, they created two chances from set pieces. English teams are always looking for set pieces.
"But we will learn from our mistakes and we are still top of the group and we are good."
Supporters who used to praise Ronaldo started mocking him.
