Conor McGregor’s most likely next opponent revealed by Dana White

Conor McGregor is set for a rematch with Dustin Poirier in his next fight. The 30-year-old defeated by Khabib Nurmagomedov in his last bout, at UFC 229 back in October. White said his first choice to be McGregor's next opponent is American Poirier. Speaking to FOX Sports, he said he would like Tony Ferguson, the top-ranked lightweight, to fight champion Nurmagomedov for the title. The winners of the two fights would then face each other. He said: “The ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone fight has never ever been discussed. That’s completely not true, I said the fight that makes sense right now is probably Poirier.  Then Tony gets a shot at the title and the two winners fight each other.” McGregor beat Poirier in 2014, seeing him off inside two minutes at UFC 178.
