Chelsea have officially sacked the club manager Frank Lampard, and according to football.london, Thomas Tuchel is set to be the Blues’ next head coach in the next 24 hours as he is already in London.
The German coach’s appointment is likely to please Christian Pulisic, with the winger previously having worked with him at Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.
Pulisic was a key player under Tuchel, while after the 47-year-old’s departure from the German club, he paid tribute to him.
“I’m just very thankful for everything [Tuchel] did for me,” Pulisic said back in 2017, as quoted by Bundesliga.com. “Tuchel always just trusted me and gave me a chance.
“Of course he’s given me tips and feedback with what he sees every day in training and stuff like that, small things.”
Then the winger added: “It’s tough in professional sports when a coach has to go like this, especially after a pretty good season. But we’re excited to see who we get and I think the team will be just fine.”
