Christian Pulisic hails ‘incredible’ Timo Werner signing after Chelsea beat Aston Villa

Christian Pulisic hailed Timo Werner as an ‘incredible’ signing for Chelsea. The Blues have finalised the signing of RB Leipzig forward for £47.5million. Werner will arrive at Stamford Bridge on a five-year contract worth £170,000-a-week. He will move to England at the end of the Bundesliga season and will become Chelsea’s second signing ahead of the next season after Hakim Ziyech. Asked about Werner’s imminent arrival in west London following Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Villa, Pulisic said: "We already have a really strong team with very good players. To add guys like that is incredible. We’re focused on this season right now but we’re also excited for what’s to come." Chelsea came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa, with the Blues now five points above fifth-placed Manchester United in the Premier League. Pulisic, who scored just five minutes after coming on, added: "I’m really happy I was able to come on and help the team. The manager just asked me to go in and help us win the game. I’m happy I was able to do that. I’m not sure I hit it perfectly but thankfully I got enough on it to steer it in.
