Christian Eriksen confirms he wants to quit Tottenham for Real Madrid

Tottenham star Christian Eriksen has admitted he wants to leave the club. The 27-year-old Denmark midfielder, who has been at Spurs since 2013, has one year to run on his current contract and he has refused to sign a new one. Spurs cannot afford to allow him to run down his deal and leave as a free agent next summer, given his high value at arguably the peak of his career. Chairman Daniel Levy, meanwhile, has informed Real Madrid president Florentino Perez that  Eriksen is not for sale this summer The Danish midfielder told Ekstrabladet: "I have the wildest and deepest respect for everything that has happened in Tottenham, nor will it be negative. It can happen anytime. Everyone wants it best if it happens as soon as possible, but in football takes things of time. Eriksen has been an integral part of the Spurs side during the Mauricio Pochettino era and enjoyed another successful campaign, scoring eight goals and providing 12 assists in 35 Premier League games, while also netting two goals and four assists in the Champions League.
