Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has been slammed when comparing the Reds defender to Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho by Chris Sutton. On BBC show 606, a caller rang in to suggest that if Sancho was worth £120 million then Alexander-Arnold should be valued at twice that amount.
But Sutton was having none of it, saying: “I am not disagreeing with you [that Alexander-Arnold is a top player]. I just find this argument so petty.
“You are judging Sancho too quickly and the fact of the matter is that he has not had a great start to the season. He was very good last season. Give him a chance! The figure on his head [£120 million] is not his fault.”
Sancho has excelled since moving to Germany, where he has found regular game time alongside stars such as Marco Reus and Erling Haaland. He was linked with a return to the Premier League over the summer.
