Chelsea urged to complete ‘unbelievable” transfer ahead of Manchester United

Chelsea have been urged to steal a march on Manchester United by completing the signing of Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani in the January transfer window. The 32-year-old has been linked with the likes of Atletico Madrid and United, but Chelsea have also been credited with an interest. Former Blues midfielder Joe Cole reckons Cavani could prove to be the perfect tonic for the young Chelsea side. “Chelsea only got the transfer ban lifted in December but I think Roman’s pockets might be burning a bit” he told BT Sport. “He will want to spend some money. But it’s important that you get the right players. Who’s available in January? “There’s talk of Cavani. I think if you can get him through the door that would be unbelievable. If Frank takes this Chelsea team to fourth in his first opportunity in the Premier League then that’s an unbelievable job.
