Chelsea to target Barcelona loanee as a back-up in case they fail to bring in Chilwell and Telles

Chelsea are reportedly targetting Barcelona loanee Marc Cucurella but are facing competition from European rivals for the youngster’s signature in the summer. The 21-year-old, who is currently on loan at Getafe, is also attracting interest from Napoli, Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen. Cucurella has impressed during his spell away from Barcelona, as the midfielder has netted once and provided five assists in 34 La Liga matches for Getafe. Besides, he can also play in defence and is therefore a potential option for Chelsea at the end of the season, as Goal claims. Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is looking for a new left-back as Emerson Palmieri is expected to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer. However, the Catalan giants already are palnning to sell Cucurella to Getafe for just €6million (£5.4m) at the end of the season, although a 40 per cent sell-on clause will be included in that deal. The Blues also have Ben Chilwell and Alex Telles on their summer target list, with Chilwell widely believed to be the club's top target but Leicester are expected to demand a huge fee for the England international. Frank Lampard's side will turn their attention to Telles if they fail in their chase of Chilwell, with the Brazilian player likely to be available for around £40million. The 27-year-old is out of contract at the end of next season but has revealed he does not intend to sign a new deal with Porto. Source- Daily and Sunday Express
