Chelsea are set to make an offer for Illaix Moriba if Barcelona fail to extend his current contract.
According to Mundo Deportivo, The Blues will fight for the 18-year-old if the latter disagrees to a new deal with Catalans.
The youngster’s current deal with Barca runs out in June 2022 and the club board have been doing their best to secure his stay.
Denis Silva Puig, who coached Barcelona Juvenil A team has previously talked about Moriba.
“He’s physically very strong, but he’s also a very intelligent player,” said Puig.
“Here he’s called the ‘(Paul) Pogba of Barca’ because he’s like a young Pogba, but also he is very, very intelligent—and that is his big potential.”
