Chelsea to learn Kai Havertz transfer fate in 48 hours as Bayer Leverkusen face tense wait

Bayer Leverkusen are preparing for their final Bundesliga match of the season this weekend and much more than just the three points could be determined by the outcome. Fifth-placed Leverkusen need a win at home to Mainz on Saturday to have any hope of finishing in the Champions League places. Chelsea are considering a move for Kai Havertz but have been quoted £90million the Bundesliga side. Frank Lampard yesterday confirmed that no bid has yet been made. However, negotiations would be made easier if Leverkusen miss out on the top four. Havertz has already made it known that he wants to further his career by moving on and playing in the Champions League next year will certainly help Leverkusen keep hold of the versatile midfielder until his price tag has been met. However, failure to beat Mainz this weekend will weaken their hand. Source: Express
