Chelsea should complete Timo Werner transfer this weekend after coronavirus restrictions delay deal

Timo Werner's move to Chelsea should be completed by next week, according to Evening Standard. They add that Werner is thought to have only been slowed by the logistics of completing a medical with coronavirus restrictions in place. The German striker’s £53million release clause expires on Monday. Frank Lampard’s side have agreed to activate the forward’s release clause after it initially appeared that the 24-year-old would be heading to Liverpool. There have been issues with completing the formalities as Chelsea's club doctors cannot fly over to Germany. If they do so they will be forced into a 14-day quarantine upon their arrival back into the UK. But once they find a solution to that problem an announcement is expected. Source: Evening Standard
