Chelsea players believe Sarri will be sacked in one case
According to reports from Evening Standard, several major players of Chelsea believe Maurizio Sarri will be sacked if they lose Tottenham.
Italian coach had a fantastic start this season, however, things went worse and worse.
Currently, Blues are 6th in the league and failure to qualify for Champions League will affect on Sarri’s future.
Chelsea lost Manchester City in Carabao Cup final, during which Sarri had a big misunderstanding with Kepa Arrizabalaga, who refused to be substituted before the penalty shoot-out.
“Sunday we did a wonderful match. It is difficult to not concede anything in the defensive phase. I am the coach so I have to focus on the performance. I spoke to Kepa, I spoke to everyone. He said sorry to the technical staff, but it was not enough. He said sorry to the players and the club. We don’t want to kill him.” Sarri said during the press-conference, when referring to the incident.
According to another report from Express, Chelsea’s dressing room is split after Kepa Arrizabalaga’s stunning Wembley rebellion.
A source said: “Most of the players are more angry with Arrizabalaga. They thought he was putting himself ahead of the team.”
It is understood some of the Spanish players in the side are backing their compatriot.
Chelsea will face Tottenham at Stamford Bridge tomorrow.
