Chelsea man's father is glad the "nightmare" is over after his son exited the club

In a recent exclusive interview with L'Équipe, Pierre-Francois Aubameyang, the father of former Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, shared that his son is finally finding his happiness again after a challenging period.

The 34-year-old endured a "nightmare year" before moving to Marseille. During his time at Barcelona, he fell victim to a robbery attack in Spain, resulting in a broken jaw while trying to protect his family.

Last summer, Aubameyang returned to the Premier League, signing with Chelsea for €12 million. However, his situation became uncertain due to the dismissal of former Blues head coach Thomas Tuchel. Although he started a few games under new manager Graham Potter, Aubameyang struggled to secure regular playing time and faced challenges during his stint in west London.

Fortunately, when Frank Lampard took over as interim manager towards the end of the previous season, Aubameyang's fortunes changed, and he began featuring regularly for Chelsea. Pierre-Francois also revealed that his own health issues had affected his son's mental well-being during his time at Stamford Bridge.
