Chelsea lining up Angel Gomes contract offer

Chelsea are ready to offer a contract to Manchester United player Angel Gomes, as the young midfielder prepares to leave Manchester United this summer. Gomes’ current deal at Old Trafford is due to expire on Tuesday. United’s attempts to convince the 19-year-old to extend his stay at the club have been unsuccessful. Asked whether Gomes would be putting pen to paper on a new deal, Solskjaer responded: "I’ve got no news – nothing. So it doesn’t look it. I’ve not heard from them (the club) last night or this morning, so it seems like they haven’t managed to agree. So the answer is probably short and yes (he’s going to leave)." According to The Independent, Gomes turned down a £25,000-a-week contract from United after receiving better offers from other clubs. One of those offers has come from Chelsea, while teams from Spain, Italy and Germany have also been credited with an interest in United’s highly-rated academy player. Source: Metro
