Chelsea are considering re-signing Nathan Ake in the summer transfer window, according to The Guardian. The Bournemouth centre-back could be available for a bargain price if the Cherries are relegated at the end of the season.
Ake joined Bournemouth in 2017 after a successful loan spell at Dean Court. In six-year spell at Stamford Bridge, he made just 17 senior appearances. The Blues have a buyback clause for the Dutch defender – although it was reported earlier this year that they had decided against using it.
The centre-back's versatility could be of use to a Chelsea side who are at risk of losing current left-back Emerson Palmieri to Juventus. While Ake has impressed in a central defensive role, he is capable of playing on the left, and would likely be a cheaper alternative to Leicester’s Ben Chilwell.
