Chelsea have four contenders to wear the 'cursed number 9 shirt'

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is reportedly willing to invest £150million this summer as Thomas Tuchel will be hoping to bolster his squad. A striker is a top priority for the Blues. The number nine shirt at Chelsea has not always brought good luck for frontmen. Radamel Falcao, Khalid Boulahrouz, Chris Sutton and others were struggling while wearing the number. And now Chelsea could end up giving whichever frontman they do sign the number nine shirt amid talk of a Tammy Abraham departure. Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland has been linked with Chelsea. With a reported price tag of somewhere between £100million and £150million, Haaland is by far the most pricey of the options at striker. Romelu Lukaku is currently valued at around £100million by Inter Milan having gone on to impress since his departure from Chelsea to Everton in 2014. Lukaku once wore number nine for the under-23s, settling for number 18 in the senior squad. Sergio Aguero is available for free this summer with his contract at the Etihad set to expire next month. However, the problem is that the likes of Barcelona are interested in signing Aguero this summer. Paulo Dybala of Juventus was heavily linked with Chelsea a while back. The most recent reports suggested Chelsea might send Jorginho and Emerson Palmieri to Juventus in a bid to lure Dybala to London.
