Chelsea handed blow on contract negotiations with Andreas Christensen

Chelsea have been handed a major blow over the contract negotiations with Andreas Christensen. The Blues were keen on extending the centre-back's contract, which expires next summer. However, according to The Telegraph, talks terminated between Chelsea and Christensen as both parties couldn't agree on the length of the contract. The club wanted to offer a five-year deal, while Christensen's representatives wanted just three. However, there is still hope that the contract will be signed. Elsewhere, there still has been no progress in negotiations regarding contract extension for Antonio Rudiger, whose contract also expires in the summer of 2022.

#Chelsea believed that they had reached an agreement for Andreas Christensen to sign a five-year deal, only to be 'stunned' as Christensen's camp proposed the length of the contract to be reduced to three years.
