Chelsea handed Ben Chilwell injury update ahead of January return

Chelsea have been provided a major injury boost for Ben Chilwell ahead of his return in January. The left back suffered a bad knee injury in the Champions League group stage rematch against Juventus. But according to Nizaar Kinsella of Goal.com, Chilwell is now back out on the training pitches running. The Englishman is initially scheduled to return in mid-January. Elsewhere, N'Golo Kante and Trevoh Chalobah have also trained on Tuesday, having previously done some physical work.

Kante and Chalobah returned to training today, having been in yesterday doing physical work when most of the squad were off. Chilwell has also stepped up his recovery and done some light fitness work on grass. This is ahead of a targeted return in early to mid-January. #CFC
