Maurizio Sarri came under huge scrutiny in February when his side were thumped by Bournemouth and Manchester City in consecutive away matches.
Reports before Chelsea’s defeat to Man City in the Carabao Cup final suggested the Italian would be sacked but the Blues won back-to-back London derbies since and now the Chelsea board suggests the Italian will remain at Stamford Bridge.
"I feel the same as before, but happier because the results are positive," Sarri told Sky Italia. "When everyone talked about my dismissal, I was talking with the club to plan the team for next season, so I was always relaxed."
Sarri has shown a willingness to adapt his tactics in recent matches, most notably in the win against Spurs.
"I think everyone has adapted to new things – also the coach," said Rudiger. You saw the way we played against Tottenham and Manchester City. It was different to the way we played in the first three months. Everyone needs to adapt, everyone needs to learn and it is good that it has happened in this moment."
