Chelsea draft shortlist of six attacking targets ahead of January transfer window

Chelsea have reportedly identified six players they will try to sign during the January transfer window. The Blues handed two-year transfer ban last February and didn’t sign anyone during the summer transfer window. However, their ban was reduced and Chelsea are free to sign players in the winter transfer window. According to the Telegraph, the Blues boss Frank Lampard wants to bolster his attacking line and bring someone who can show competition to Tammy Abraham. Lampard set to be given a war chest of around £150m to spend. They have identified six players as a potential signing. One of them are Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, who can strengthen their squad ahead of Champions League last-16 stage games against Bayern Munich. The second one is Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha, who has expressed his desire to leave his current club. But if they want to sign him Chelsea will have to smash their record fee for a player, as Eagles demanding around £80m. Bayern Leverkusen’s Leon Bailey and Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze are two other names. The last two remaining names on the list are forwards Timo Werner of Stuttgart and Lyon’s Moussa Dembele.
