Chelsea are considering a potential blockbuster part-exchange deal involving Timo Werner, according to Football Insider. The Blues want to send Werner to Borussia Dortmund for Erling Haaland.

A Chelsea source has told Football Insider the club believe there “could be a deal on for Haaland this summer”. One possibility mooted at Stamford Bridge is a cash-plus-player deal.

It has been widely reported that Haaland has a release clause that becomes active in the summer of 2022 for around £68m. Chelsea understands it would probably take a £100m deal to sign Haaland and ready to send Werner to Germany.
