Chelsea chief Marina Granovskaia pulls off huge pressure with Kai Havertz transfer

Chelsea are expected to announce Kai Havertz as their latest summer signing. Transfer chief Marina Granovskaia may have helped take off some of the pressure from the Germany international. Havertz has been Chelsea's top transfer target throughout the summer with negotiations going on for several months. He left the Germany national squad to fly into London for a medical ahead of what was thought to be a club-record transfer. According to reports, Chelsea would pay an initial fee worth £72million with add-ons taking it up to £90m. That would have trumped the £72m they paid to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga in 2018. However, the Telegraph report Havertz will in fact not be Chelsea's record signing, even with add-ons. It is said that Chelsea will pay just £62m up front with potential add-ons only totalling up to £70m. Given how Kepa has struggled to live up to being the club's record signing, Havertz will undoubtedly be relieved to not take that mantle away from the goalkeeper. Havertz could be available as early as next week to make his Chelsea debut if the medical is completed in time. Source- Daily and Sunday Express
