Chelsea call off training after “major coronavirus scare”

Chelsea have reportedly cancelled Thursday’s first-team training session due to what is described as “a major scare” from someone close to the squad who has a fever and a dry cough. According to The Athletic, as of Thursday lunchtime, the person is yet to be officially diagnosed with coronavirus but the club’s Cobham training base is undergoing a deep clean as a precaution. Chelsea are scheduled to play Aston Villa at Villa Park in Saturday’s late kick-off in the Premier League.
