Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is reportedly interested in Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero because of his doubts over Kepa Arrizabalaga. Arrizabalaga has had a turbulent two years at Stamford Bridge after becoming the club’s record signing for £71.6million.
A new goalkeeper is being searched for this summer and United’s Romero is a possible option, according to the Athletic. The Argentine was the understudy for David De Gea last season but Dean Henderson has returned from his loan spell with Sheffield United to challenge for the No 1 spot.
It was thought that Henderson may be loaned out again but he penned a new five-year contract last month and vowed to fight for his place with the Red Devils. That means Romero will drop down the pecking order to third choice.
