Chelsea are preparing to sack Maurizio Sarri regardless of whether he wins the Europa League and have already identified Frank Lampard as his possible replacement.
Sky Sport Italia report that Chelsea are looking to change their manager after the Europa League final and want to give Lampard chance to start a new era.
The former Blues midfielder is currently having an excellent first season in management at Derby County.
He is the club's all-time leading goalscorer with 211 goals, and is one of the most popular figures in club history. Abramovich is said to believe that bringing Lampard to the dugout at Stamford Bridge would be a hugely popular decision amongst supporters, as they look to bounce back from a tumultuous season.
