Chelsea accidentally revealed permanent signing of Kovacic as they announce Higuain and four other players have been released from club

Gary Cahill, Gonzalo Higuain, Rob Green, Eduardo and Kyle Scott have now left Chelsea following the end of their contracts, the club has announced.  Cahill departs Stamford Bridge a Chelsea legend and a winner after seven-and-a-half years of exemplary service during which time he won the lot. Higuain joined Chelsea on loan from Juventus in January. He was reunited with Maurizio Sarri after their successful time together at Napoli. According to his agent and brother Nicola, he will be playing for Juventus next season. Green provided experienced cover to Kepa Arrizabalaga and Willy Caballero during the 2018/19 campaign before announcing his retirement from the game. Eduardo signed from Dinamo Zagreb in August 2016 to provide experienced goalkeeper cover and competition for Thibaut Courtois and Asmir Begovic Chelsea have made huge blunder after accidentally announcing the permanent signing of Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid before officially completing the deal. An article announcing Kovacic’s signing briefly appeared on Chelsea’s mobile app on Saturday night, despite no official confirmation, before it was swiftly taken down. Kovacic described Chelsea as 'a fantastic club' in the interview entitled ‘My Footballing firsts’. He said: “I am very happy to be staying here and very proud to be a Chelsea player.”
