Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen are separated by a single point at the top of the F1 championship with one race win apiece after two dramatic races in Bahrain and Imola, the stage has been set for a season-long championship clash.
But according to Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, the Red Bull driver is ahead of the Mercedes champion in the current season.
“If I had to bet a euro on one of those two? Verstappen. The Red Bull has made progress and seems to have an edge over Mercedes. Max is capable of winning because he has a lot of talent,” said Leclerc.
On Sunday, May 2 the three drivers will be on the grid for the Portuguese Grand Prix.
“I think it will be more or less the same, the battle with Alpha Tauri and McLaren promises to be tight, but I believe in the project because I know how we work internally and I know our potential,” said Leclerc.
