Celtic have had a bid of £3m rejected for Brazilian centre-back Fabricio Bruno, with the 23-year-old’s club, Cruzeiro, confirming the approach.
Bruno has been linked with a move away from his current club; however, Celtic’s first bid for the player was rejected.
Nevertheless, the two clubs will continue to hold talks over a potential deal.
Cruzeiro’s head of football operations, Marcio Rodrigues, confirmed there had been an offer for the 23-year-old, adding:
"[Celtic] made an offer but it doesn't come close to what we want."
Celtic wants to acquire 70% of the player’s right, but while this fell through, a potential loan deal remains on the table.
According to Globesporte, Fabricio Bruno is regarded as a key player at his club.
