Casper Ruud has taken to Instagram to send a message following Roland Garros final.
Djokovic celebrated a 7-6 (7-1) 6-3 7-5 victory over Ruud in the French Open final on Sunday, June 11, 2023.
With the win, the Serbian becomes the first male tennis player to win 23 Grand Slam titles. This was Djokovic's 3rd Roland Garros title.
"Even though it didn’t go my way on Sunday I am extremely happy and proud of what the team and I have achieved over the last two weeks in Paris," Ruud wrote on Instagram.
"I am very thankful for the support from the French audience and Roland-Garros has become very special to me🇫🇷 Paris est devenu très proche de mon cœur.
"Congrats to Novak and his team in making history with amazing achievements🏆."
