CAS release statement after Manchester City appeal is heard

CAS have released a statement after Manchester City appeal is heard against a two-year ban from European competitions. The Sky Blues will have to wait until July to discover their fate. A three-day hearing at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) finished yesterday (Wednesday) and saw City’s legal team argue against the two-year ban and €30million fine handed down by UEFA in February. City were found guilty of breaches of Financial Fair Play regulations and UEFA Club Licencing rules by the governing body's Club Financial Control Body. After the hearing ended, a CAS spokesman released a statement outlining when a verdict on the appeal will be made: "At the end of the hearing, both parties expressed their satisfaction with respect to the conduct of the procedure. The panel of arbitrators in charge of the matter, composed of Mr Rui Botica Santos (Portugal), president, Prof. Ulrich Haas (Germany) and Mr Andrew McDougall QC (France), will start its deliberations and prepare the Arbitral Award containing their decision."
