Canelo’s trainer reveals how many fights they are planning for 2020 and named possible opponents

Canelo Alvarez’ coach Eddy Reynoso has revealed they are planning two fights for 2020.  When asked about the possible candidates to face the Pound For Pound leader, the trainer mentioned several names, including Billy Joe Saunders, David Benavidez (for the first fight) and Gennady Golovkin (for the second fight).  The Triple ‘G’ is considered for a late date in 2020, as he wants to first face Kamil Szeremeta for IBF title defence.  “We realistically want two fights this year. We couldn’t fight in May, so we are looking at September and December. We’re talking about (potential opponents) like Billy Joe Saunders.” Canelo’s coach Eddy Reynoso said to Box Azteca (cited by Boxingnews24). “There’s also Caleb Plant and the WBC world title holder at 168 pounds (David Benavidez). There are several (options). Golovkin could be the fight for December. His people have already said that he doesn’t want to fight Canelo until after the (Kamil Szeremeta) fight,” Reynoso added.
