Canelo HAS an OPPONENT for May 2, and his name will SURPRISE fans
Eric Gomez (Golden Boy Promotions) has revealed they are soon to announce Saul Alvarez’s next opponent and there is going to be a surprise for fans.
Mexican superstar has faced Sergey Kovalev in his last fight back in November. Since then, several names including Callum Smith, Billie Joe Saunders and Ryota Murata have been mentioned, while there are also rumors that Canelo can meet Gennady Golovkin to complete their trilogy.
“An announcement is going to come shortly. I’d rather not say who it is at this time, but we’re very close to finalizing a deal,” Gomez told Fino Boxing (via Boxingnews24)
“There are some final details that need to be worked out, but it’s going to surprise everybody.
“The opponent is secure, and it’s one of the top fighters in boxing,”
“It’s actually a very good fight and a very dangerous fight for Saul. It’s a very dangerous fight, but that’s who he wanted, and we’re hoping to announce it very soon. Anytime now,” Gomez added.
