Calciomercato: Liverpool are considering the signing of a new goalkeeper

Liverpool are eyeing the signing of Genk goalkeeper Maarten Vandervoordt, according to Calciomercato. They face a real battle for his signature as Vandevoordt is wanted by Roma, whilst Real Madrid are also keen. Vandevoordt has only made 17 first-team appearances for Genk, but did break a record in 2019, becoming the youngest goalkeeper to appear in the Champions League, aged 17 years and 287 days. He could soon make a move to a major European club. Liverpool recently signed two other young goalkeepers in Marcelo Pitaluga and Liam Hughes. Add in that Liverpool also have Caoimhin Kelleher, Harvey Davies, Jakub Ojrzynski and Fabian Mrozek, and a move for another young goalkeeper just doesn’t seem like a priority.
