Manchester United have been told they will need to pay more than £56m to sign Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon, as Fernandes has said who decides his future.
The Red Devils are ready to make a bid of £50m for the Portugal playmaker.
Fernandes spoke to the press on Monday and summed up the stand-off in six words.
"The president decides that, not me."
Sporting president Frederico Varandas recently told
RTP at Lisbon Airport: "
I don't know if there are many or if there are few [clubs interested in Fernandes]. What I know, a lot has been spoken of values, coming to the press, €55million, €62million… for that he doesn't leave, for sure. If Bruno Fernandes leaves, players with quality will come. But [only] if Bruno leaves."
